Duties & Responsibilities
- Facilitate the loading and unloading of cargo to and from trucks
- Verify freight for correct piece count, weight, dimensions, and documentation before accepting or delivering cargo; issue or collect warehouse/delivery receipts
- Ensure cargo has proper release from office personnel before delivery to consignee or agent
- Operate basic cargo handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and aircraft pallets
- Break down cargo from import flights, sort, check against manifests, and store in proper locations; build cargo for export flights following supervisor instructions
- Maintain inventory of freight, warehouse supplies, airline equipment, and containers
- Maintain security of cargo and company equipment; report tampering, pilferage, or damage to supervisors
- Keep work areas clean and report damaged or broken equipment as needed
- Complete paperwork and enter data into company systems in accordance with procedures
- Follow company protocols for safe and responsible operations
Qualifications
- Prior warehouse experience required
- Valid NYS Driver’s License
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High School Diploma or G.E.D preferred
- Attend all required training and be punctual, prepared, and ready to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 70 pounds regularly, and repeatedly lift items weighing 40–50 pounds onto raised surfaces
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather and around jet and machinery noise
