Duties & Responsibilities
- Load and unload more than 100 items per aircraft as required
- Push and pull baggage carts and cargo containers
- Couple and uncouple baggage and cargo dollies
- Ascend and descend jetway stairs while carrying baggage
- Bend, stoop, and handle cargo in aircraft and storage areas
- Stand and work in all weather conditions during operations
- Operate motorized equipment such as tugs and belt loaders
- Complete safety checklists for equipment use
- Read and interpret baggage tags, load sheets, and cargo labels
- Enter and retrieve data using computer systems for weight and balance
- Count and verify baggage and cargo during operations
- Connect aircraft support equipment (PC Air, GPU, etc.)
- Communicate using signals with coworkers and flight crews
- Follow all FAA, TSA, and company safety regulations
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Valid Driver’s License
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Fully conversational in English
- Able to lift up to 70 lbs.
- Must be mobile and able to stand for extended periods, to stoop, kneel, and crouch
- Must be available to work varied hours/days including nights, weekends, holidays, and bad weather conditions
