Duties & Responsibilities

  • Load and unload more than 100 items per aircraft as required
  • Push and pull baggage carts and cargo containers
  • Couple and uncouple baggage and cargo dollies
  • Ascend and descend jetway stairs while carrying baggage
  • Bend, stoop, and handle cargo in aircraft and storage areas
  • Stand and work in all weather conditions during operations
  • Operate motorized equipment such as tugs and belt loaders
  • Complete safety checklists for equipment use
  • Read and interpret baggage tags, load sheets, and cargo labels
  • Enter and retrieve data using computer systems for weight and balance
  • Count and verify baggage and cargo during operations
  • Connect aircraft support equipment (PC Air, GPU, etc.)
  • Communicate using signals with coworkers and flight crews
  • Follow all FAA, TSA, and company safety regulations
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Fully conversational in English
  • Able to lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Must be mobile and able to stand for extended periods, to stoop, kneel, and crouch
  • Must be available to work varied hours/days including nights, weekends, holidays, and bad weather conditions
