Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and comfort of customers by providing outstanding service on every flight
- Perform all work activities in accordance with established standards, policies, and Federal Aviation Administration regulations
- Respond effectively during emergency situations and provide emergency medical assistance including CPR and basic first aid
- Prepare and serve meals, snacks, and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and process payments for purchased items
- Assist customers with lifting, transporting, and stowing luggage into overhead bins and storage areas
- Make public address announcements, perform safety demonstrations, and provide timely informational updates
- Answer customer questions and provide special assistance to unaccompanied minors, elderly passengers, and individuals with special needs
- Ensure the aircraft and customers are in full compliance with all policies, procedures, regulations, and safety guidance
- Complete paperwork and detailed reports regarding incidents and discrepancies
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of customer service experience
- Must be at least 21 years old
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. required — Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Must possess and maintain a valid passport with equivalent travel documents to freely enter and exit all destinations
- Must successfully complete 4 weeks of Flight Attendant Initial Training including 2 weeks of remote virtual classroom training and 2 weeks at the training center in Minneapolis
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently — multilingual is a plus
- Familiarity with mobile handheld devices and basic programs including Microsoft Outlook and Word
- Ability to report to work at assigned base within 2.5 hours for NYC bases
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays — must be on-call for all hours
