Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare menu items for respective stations ensuring all ingredients are prepped, portioned, and accessible for smooth service
- Prepare food to the correct temperature, portion sizing, and plating standards consistently and with urgency
- Follow approved specifications and restaurant directions controlling the quality of all food items prepared and served
- Operate all kitchen equipment efficiently and safely including knives, stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, and kettles
- Maintain organization, cleanliness, and sanitation of work areas and equipment in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies and notify management of any shortages
- Assist in training new kitchen staff in procedures, safety protocols, and food preparation techniques
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with team members fostering a collaborative environment
- Engage in continuous learning and development of culinary skills to enhance personal and team performance
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional at all times
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the leadership team
Qualifications
- 2 or more years of culinary experience in a high-volume full-service or multi-unit environment preferred
- Must obtain ServSafe Certification or equivalent within 30 days of being hired
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred
- Fully conversational in English
- Able to lift 35 lbs. or more
- Must be mobile and able to stand for extended periods, to stoop, kneel, and crouch
- Must be available to work varied hours/days including nights, weekends, holidays, and bad weather conditions
