Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare menu items for respective stations ensuring all ingredients are prepped, portioned, and accessible for smooth service
  • Prepare food to the correct temperature, portion sizing, and plating standards consistently and with urgency
  • Follow approved specifications and restaurant directions controlling the quality of all food items prepared and served
  • Operate all kitchen equipment efficiently and safely including knives, stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, and kettles
  • Maintain organization, cleanliness, and sanitation of work areas and equipment in compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies and notify management of any shortages
  • Assist in training new kitchen staff in procedures, safety protocols, and food preparation techniques
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with team members fostering a collaborative environment
  • Engage in continuous learning and development of culinary skills to enhance personal and team performance
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional at all times
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the leadership team

Qualifications

  • 2 or more years of culinary experience in a high-volume full-service or multi-unit environment preferred
  • Must obtain ServSafe Certification or equivalent within 30 days of being hired
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred
  • Fully conversational in English
  • Able to lift 35 lbs. or more
  • Must be mobile and able to stand for extended periods, to stoop, kneel, and crouch
  • Must be available to work varied hours/days including nights, weekends, holidays, and bad weather conditions
