Ground Service Agent

Duties & Responsibilities

• Guide inbound and outbound airplanes to and from gates
• Load, unload, and transport passenger bags and cargo to and from aircraft, carts, dollies, and conveyors
• Operate ground support equipment such as tow tractors, tow bars, belt loaders, container loaders, and baggage tugs
• Maintain safety and security on the ramp by following all safety procedures
• Communicate effectively with ground personnel and flight crews
• Work with other departments to support on-time flight performance
• Follow all applicable federal, state, airport, and company regulations
• Read and interpret aircraft load sheets, baggage tags, and cargo labels
• Use verbal and visual signals to communicate with coworkers and flight crews
• Perform other duties as assigned, including cross-training opportunities

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Valid Driver’s License required
• Basic computer literacy
• Willingness to learn new systems and equipment
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and around aircraft equipment, with flexible availability for nights, weekends, and holidays
