Duties & Responsibilities
- Push wheelchair passengers safely to and from gates and throughout all airport areas including terminal and jet bridge
- Safely lift disabled passengers to and from aircraft seats with mobility device assistance
- Greet and assist customers upon airport arrival in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner
- Carry passengers’ carry-on luggage and assist with checked and claimed baggage
- Direct passengers to appropriate TSA security lines
- Ensure wheel brakes are in place prior to allowing passengers to exit the wheelchair
- Complete wheelchair and incident reports as necessary
- Follow dispatcher gate orders and maintain professional relationships with airline and airport staff
- Assist passengers with any problems, questions, or concerns
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred
- Able to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Must be reliable, report to work on a regular and timely basis, and available to work day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Able to lift, push, and carry up to 75 lbs
- Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, squat, and push throughout the shift
