Duties & Responsibilities

  • Push wheelchair passengers safely to and from gates and throughout all airport areas including terminal and jet bridge
  • Safely lift disabled passengers to and from aircraft seats with mobility device assistance
  • Greet and assist customers upon airport arrival in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner
  • Carry passengers’ carry-on luggage and assist with checked and claimed baggage
  • Direct passengers to appropriate TSA security lines
  • Ensure wheel brakes are in place prior to allowing passengers to exit the wheelchair
  • Complete wheelchair and incident reports as necessary
  • Follow dispatcher gate orders and maintain professional relationships with airline and airport staff
  • Assist passengers with any problems, questions, or concerns
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred
  • Able to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Must be reliable, report to work on a regular and timely basis, and available to work day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • Able to lift, push, and carry up to 75 lbs
  • Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, squat, and push throughout the shift
