Duties & Responsibilities

  • Observe and report suspicious activity and security concerns
  • Monitor and control access to restricted areas (AOA/SIDA)
  • Enforce airport, Port Authority, and federal security regulations
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and screen personnel entering secure areas
  • Perform perimeter checks and inspections of facilities and contractor areas
  • Respond to alarms, incidents, emergencies, and security threats
  • Assist with crowd control, fire watch duties, and emergency response situations
  • Direct traffic and provide escort services as required
  • Report hazards, unsafe conditions, and unusual activity
  • Maintain detailed logs and complete incident reports
  • Assist passengers and staff when needed without compromising security duties
  • Remain on post at all times unless properly relieved
  • Report for duty early for roll call and post assignment

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years verifiable security experience (W2 or employer letter required)
  • Valid NYS Security Guard License required
  • Driver’s License preferred
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D required
  • Fluent in English
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical duties for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and respond to emergency situations
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays

    • Pay Progression:

      • $22.35/hour (starting rate)
      • $23.25/hour after 8 months
      • $24.15/hour after 18 months
